My Teaching History

I began my teaching by first becoming a Substitute Teacher as soon as I obtained my BA Degree. It really impressed upon me how much I wanted to teach full time in my own classroom. So, I went back to school and obtained one from Concordia University Irvine with a K8 Teaching Certification.

I have taught 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 5th grade as well as spent many years in the preschool classroom. My passion is teaching at the Middle School level so when I was hired at Booth-Fickett I was thrilled. I felt as though I came home to where I am supposed to be.

This 2020/2021 School Year is my 2nd year at Booth-Fickett.  Last year I taught 6th and 8th Grade ELA, and this year I am super excited to be teaching our new Yearbook Class, 7th Grade ELA and 8th Grade ELA.

I hope to stay teaching at Booth-Fickett at the MS Level for as long as my career lasts. I have found a family here and I am very passionate about our school and helping us grow, expand, and improve. Together we can make Booth-Fickett the best school in TUSD!
